British Virgin Islands - March 2008
So, we wake up the next morning and the anchorage is empty save a couple of cats. A fellow on a Barefoot charter boat comes by in his dingy and asks if we've been contacted by the Moorings about getting out of Dodge. It seems that armageddon is coming down on us in the form of 25' swells from the north. Heck, I'm just having some Caribbean tea on the poop deck and I say "nope, haven't heard a thing." He says that his outfit called up and said to get the hell out of there. Well, since the highest point in Anegada is 18', that seemed to have been not be a half-bad idea. What to do? To make a long story short - we make a late and very quick trip back to Virgin Gorda to Bitter End for the night and then to Spanish Harbor for a great meal at Rock Cafe. Looking back, we should have stayed.
